We are preparing some home grown music to include in our Sunday Services by bringing together recordings made by individuals. This is being coordinated by Helen Strudwick from Whaddon.
To do this everyone who wants to take part needs to make a recording of themselves singing along to a pre-recorded version of "Lord, for the Years” and then send their recording to Helen. Full instructions are below. The individual recordings will then be stitched together, so that we’re all starting and finishing at the same time. We will also have a sing-together on Zoom (with everyone muted), which will be recorded to give us some video. This will be put together with the singing and we will thus make a film.
If you are someone who likes singing in parts, then you will be very welcome to do so. We will be singing the first and last verse in unison, and the middle verses in parts.
If you play an instrument, please feel free to make a recording of yourself playing along on your instrument.
Please let Helen have your recording by the 22nd July.
Instructions (these sound harder than they are!)
Step 1. Download the sheet music for the song at this link,
Step 2. Download the prerecorded version that you prefer to use using one of the links below:
Tune: Download here
Alto part: Download here
Tenor part: Download here
Bass part: Download here
All Parts together: Download here
All the parts feature Helen singing although the tenor and bass parts use a voice transformer so may sound unusual.
Step 3. Listen to the recording and get familiar with the tune if you don't know it already
Step 4. Record When you’re ready to make a recording, it’s easiest if you have two devices, of which one should be a smartphone:
Step 5. Save your recording and listen back to it. If you’re not happy with it, have another go.
Step 6. Send your recording on to me using WeTransfer. This is free and there is no need to register so just click 'no thanks' if asked. If you are struggling to use WeTransfer then you can send to Helen via email email@example.com.
