Who's who

Church does not just happen. Many people offer their gifts and skills to keep everything running and to serve you. Meet a few of us.

Rev Helen Orr
Helen is the vicar of Bassingbourn and Whaddon having joined us in October 2021. She has a great sense of mission for the communities she serves seeking to engage with the various village groups. 
She will be seen around the village often with her dogs Coco and Pippa. 
​Helen is part time and her days in the parish are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Vic Skuce and Michelle Renwick
Vic and Michelle are our Churchwardens whose responsibility it is to keep the church running smoothly and the building in good order. They are very busy organising the many volunteers and making sure everything is ready for the services. 

Rev Amanda O'Neill
Amanda is our associate minister at Bassingbourn and Whaddon who supports Helen, our vicar, run the services. She is a volunteer and also works in the area of clinical informatics. She lives in Whittlesford and has a border collie called Ha’penny. She trained with the Eastern Region Ministry Course and was ordained in 2012. Following curacies in Trumpington and Huntingdon, Amanda joined us in April 2018. She leads services, preaches, offers pastoral care and assists in leading the church with Simon ad Erica.

Simon Morris, Erica Coomber, Steve Renwick
Simon, Erica and Steve are Licensed Lay Ministers. They are volunteers with other responsibilities of families and jobs who also manage to find time to lead services and preach, offer pastoral support, take funerals and other pastoral work in the Church. 

Nick Jones 
Nick is our parish administrator and can be found in the Church Office Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings each week.  For christenings, weddings and funerals please contact him in the first instance. He works closely with the rest of the leadership team to help them in all they do.
