Chair Sponsorship

Your chance to Sponsor a Chair

As part of our church refurbishment we are giving people the opportunity to sponsor a chair.

Each chair can have a plaque in memory or celebration of a loved one, or to denote individual or community group who has generously sponsored the purchase of the chair.

The cost of sponsoring a chair is £250 which covers the chair, the personalise plaque and a contribution to the stacking trolly.

Plaques
Small plaques with a name can be fixed to a chair in any of the following general formats:

“In memory of John Smith 1950-2019”
“In celebration of Jane Smith 15th May 2023” or
“Donated by Jane Smith”

Alternative inscriptions will be considered on request.

We will be holding a special service of dedication and all donors will have the chair they donated with the plaque on it reserved for them at that service.

Chair selection
We have undergone a process to select the best chair for the church. A selection of chairs has been trialled by the congregation to find one that is comfortable, attractive, all wood, durable and stackable.

Approximately 10% of the chairs will have arms, for the benefit of those who find it easier to use the chair arms to aid getting up from them.

Terms and Conditions

Once sponsored, the chair will become the property of St Peter & St Paul, Bassingbourn. Sponsorship of a chair does not entitle the sponsor to any special admission or seating rights
The chairs are designed so that they may be moved and stacked where necessary. There is therefore no undertaking to keep a sponsored chair in any part of, or position in, the church.
While the chairs are expected to last for many years and every effort will be made to avoid damage, no guarantee can be given that any one chair will be in the Church for any specific period of time.
The PCC reserves permission to refuse requests for plaque inscriptions that are not considered appropriate.
